Is Syllabase free?

Yes. It’s in early access and completely free right now: no card, no trial timer, nothing locked.

What’s free, and will it stay that way?

Syllabase is free while it’s in early access. As it grows, some deeper features may become part of a paid tier, and the free tier may include ads in the future. Pricing and exactly what stays free are still being finalized and may change, but there will always be a meaningful free option, and early supporters will get preferential terms if paid tiers arrive.

How do I calculate what I need on my final?

Take your target grade, subtract what you’ve already earned (your current average × the weight graded so far), then divide by the weight still to come. Syllabase does this for every course automatically, including drop-the-lowest rules and participation, and there’s a free final grade calculator on our site.

Does it work with my school’s grading scale?

Pick your school and Syllabase uses its real scale: York’s 9.0, UofT’s 4.0, Queen’s 4.3, McMaster’s 12-point, Western’s percentage averages, US and international scales, and more, including each school’s credit weights. Not listed? Build your own scale in seconds.

Why doesn’t Syllabase use AI on my grades?

On purpose. Your academic record is sensitive, and grade math should be checkable, not probabilistic. No AI ever runs on your grades, so your data never leaves your account and results are always exact.

Do I have to upload my syllabus?

No. Syllabase never asks for the file. Enter the dates and weights yourself, or use your own AI assistant to draft an import from your syllabus and paste it in. You review everything before it’s saved.

Can it help me actually study, not just track?

Yes. Optional work sessions let you pick a few assignments, run a focus timer, keep a work log, and see stats like your study streak, time by course and personal bests.

Does Syllabase show ads or sell my data?

It’s ad-free today. If ads ever arrive, they’ll be free-tier only, non-targeted, and never based on your academic data. We never sell or share your data with advertisers.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. It’s built mobile-first and installs to your home screen like a native app, with dark mode and seasonal themes.
